In July of 2023, Dr. Leslie joined the faculty at Dallas Baptist University as the Director of Research in Educational Leadership EdD K-12. Prior to joining DBU, Dr. Leslie worked for 27 years in public education in Plano, Frisco, and Grapevine-Colleyville ISDs. She was a classroom teacher for 14 years and taught AP Language & Composition and various levels of English at the middle and high school levels. Dr. Leslie also had the honor of founding the Independent Study and Mentorship Program (ISM) at two high schools in Frisco ISD. ISM is a rigorous, weighted elective at all FISD high schools that helps students explore various career options and engage in authentic experiences that help students supplement their college and scholarship applications. After teaching, Dr. Leslie moved to central office where she supported gifted/talented and advanced academics and finished her public ed career as the Executive Director of Learning in GCISD.
